At Plant Power Products, we place great importance on research. For 25 years, we have been following global research on chitin and chitosan hydrochloride in the agricultural sector.
We also investigate the effectiveness of Hamerol as much as possible in practice. To further expand our knowledge of the functioning and application of Hamerol, we have trial and demo fields across the Netherlands (and also abroad) in various crops and soil types. These fields are located at arable farmers, bulb growers, and vegetable growers, but of course also at official research institutes.

Trial and demo fields

Chitosan hydrochloride is a natural product that yields varying results under different conditions. The synthetic substances in chemical crop protection agents are generally more stable in terms of efficacy. The added value lies precisely in the combination of chemical crop protection agents with Hamerol, to make the best use of both. Since Hamerol can fill some of the gaps in spray schedules (caused by the removal of chemical agents losing their approval), it can contribute to resistance management. Moreover, in some cases, it is possible to replace part of the chemicals with Hamerol.

Also, in crops under the PlanetProof certification, the use of certain agents sometimes results in penalty points. When it is possible to replace one of these agents with Hamerol, a bonus point can be earned instead. In vegetable cultivation, the application of Hamerol results in a significant reduction in residue.
