As the European and therefore Dutch authorization of more and more (chemical) crop protection products expires, the grower will notice that there are fewer and fewer alternatives available. Chitosan hydrochloride can be a useful addition and in some cases a replacement for regular crop protection products.
Plant Power Products wants to contribute to increasing knowledge of chitosan and its derivatives through practical research and advice to naturally combat and prevent plant diseases and infections. This should lead to our chitosan products becoming a permanent part of an integrated crop protection system. With this biological solution, the grower gets a healthier crop at lower costs with a lower environmental impact.
Social developments lead to increasing pressure on the agricultural sector to reduce the use of chemical crop protection products. This means that the authorization of more and more chemicals in the EU is being withdrawn and it is also becoming increasingly difficult to get new chemical crop protection products registered. The grower’s toolbox is therefore becoming emptier and it is becoming an increasing challenge to protect the crop against diseases and infections.
Plant Power Products wants to substantiate the added value of chitosan for the agricultural sector with practical research and the development of new products based on this biopolymer. This should lead to some of the gaps that arise in spraying schedules due to the loss of chemical agents being filled by Hamerol.
